Toyota Etios - The Sedan Reflects True Toyota

When Toyota Motors displayed Toyota Etios sedan concept at the 2010 Auto Expo, it was quite an attention grabber, and now since its official launch it has been one of the bestselling sedans for the company month after month. Etios is the first mass segment car from the company at a price that is truly affordable along with lets every car buyer experience the brand ‘Toyota’. Etios is a made-for-India car that came into existence after an extensive research of Indian conditions, it is said that the testing comprised of nearly 2 Lakh kilometers-run and main concern was given to price, space, fuel efficiency and style.
The outside looks of the sedan carries excellent fit and finish levels looks a real Toyota vehicle. The front has a distinct ‘smiling’ grille with chrome inserts alongside newly shaped headlamps and properly crafted bumpers that have spherical fog lamps. All over the body the metallic paint is done with perfection. The rear has classy looking tail lamps. This beautiful designing work was carried out for nearly 4 years by the company engineers and was called 'Bold Simplicity' with perfect blend of functionality ...

The interiors have got a charm that no other car in the segment boasts. The inside styling is about some ideal balance of functionality and form. It cleverly designed to make ample space for three passengers at the rear apart from two at front. The dashboard is clean and instrument panel can be read easily. The electric-assisted power steering is a sheer joy along with many other elements like the entertainment system, 13ltr cooled glove box and the dual tone interiors, which makes the car ambience feel-fresh. With Toyota safety comes first and it comes loaded with all the required aspects to protect the occupants.
Initially it was only available with 1.5L petrol option later followed by 1.4L diesel power-train. The 1496cc petrol version churns 90 ps of max power at 5600 rpm while the top torque is of 132 Nm at 3000 rpm. On the other hand the extremely pocket friendly 1364cc diesel companion yields max power of 68 PS at 3800 rpm alongside peak torque of 170 Nm at 1800 rpm. Both these motors are mated to pretty smooth 5-speed manual gearbox. The mileage delivered by these engines is marvelous and has been a threat to the likes of Maruti models like Maruti Swift Dzire that is famous for delivering good mileage.
