Manchester city is located in the North West of England. It has a population of about 430,000 whereas greater Manchester has population that counts up to 2,500,000 people. Manchester was considered an industrial city. It houses some of the worlds most expensive and famous sports club Manchester United and Manchester City. Manchester has the largest number of students apart from London in Britain. The city has a cultural life which rivals the cultural life in London. Climate in Manchester

This city is a golfer's paradise as there are more than 80 golf courses. There are more theaters in this city just after London. It has the two of the most famous Premier League football teams, Manchester United and Manchester City. Manchester has three universities and two famous television companies.

It is the perfect base for tourism as it is centrally located within the British Isles. Tourists in Manchester can access three major National parks. Only an hour' drive will take you the Lake District, Peak District, and the Snowdonia National Park. Within one hour you can even go to the nearest seaside towns of Lancashire on the Fylde coast. There are other great cities like Liverpool, Lancaster and York.

Shopping in Manchester


Manchester City Center is the major shopping center in the North West. It is the prime area for retailing and it houses the Arndale Center which is one of Europe's largest shopping center. It was found that Manchester was the second most popular choice for retailers after London. So there is no doubt that whatever you want shop for will be available wherever you go in Manchester. There are clothesline from the most famous fashion houses like Armani, Boss, DKNY, and Westwood. Entertainment in Manchester is no less than in London. There are opera houses, theaters, nightclubs, and cabarets. Many other entertainment centers are also present that are suitable for children, adults as well as older people.
