Strong organizational skills- being efficient and organized is the need for every business organization. You will be required to handle several clients at a time. You must feel savvy in using emails, video chats etc. Moreover, you may also require to conduct some online research. Additionally, your client may ask you to update the website timely and keep the track. Only efficient internet knowledge can help you with this.
Managerial skills- either you are working as a virtual employee or running some virtual assistant business, you must have effective management skills. In both cases, you will handle business, either your own or of your client. A basic knowledge of advertising, Public relations and marketing is essential for smooth running of business.
Proofreading ability- sloppy work highlights that you are an unprofessional individual. Avoid doing typo errors, spelling mistakes, grammatical errors etc. The client may ask you to send letters or emails which should be accurate.
Besides these, virtual assistants must have the quick thinking ability, decision making power, motivated, self disciplined. He/she should have a love of learning different things. It is also essential that you have a fast and dependable internet connection along with a good communication means so that your client can communicate with you at any hour of the day.
