Traffic cones are frequently used during road works to create barriers between the traffic and the working area. They are used to help direct traffic into different lanes, to show motorists where they can and can’t drive and traffic cones are also used to mark prohibited areas such as no parking zones or private parking areas. Traffic cones are very common place on UK roads and they are an essential piece of road safety equipment. Road traffic companies who carry out road and motorway repairs will need a vast number of traffic cones to use on daily basis. If the company has a large number of staff and work from many sites at one time then they will need to ensure that each vehicle is loaded up with sufficient traffic cones for that particular job.

There are different types of traffic cones for different uses. The standard traffic cones tend to be orange with a black base and a reflective sleeve around the centre of the cone. The reflective sleeve is very important as this helps drivers to see the cones in poor weather conditions or at night as the vehicles lights reflect onto the cone. Some traffic cones come in two ...
... pieces which allows for easier transport and storage. Traffic cones come in range of different heights depending on what they are required for. As well as standard traffic cones you can also get warning cones, no waiting traffic cones and cylinder traffic cones which tend to be used to create lanes during road works.

Safety helmets are another very important part of road work and construction site safety. Now it is a requirement that all workers and visitors must wear safety helmets on a construction site so all building companies will need to invest in a range of safety helmets. Safety helmets come in different colours and sizes. They are made from very tough impact resistant UV stabilised high density polyethylene. Most safety helmets have a comfortable strap that sits across the back of the head to help secure the helmet in place. Traffic cones and safety helmets tend to be sold by the same retailers.
