Business Objectives
All businesses in the world have some objective of theirs. Businesses may not just run, for example, if a person simply likes to run a business. Instead, there are a couple of aims of the entrepreneurs behind running the businesses. Even, charities are business. In fact, today, the leading charities of the world are indeed very large businesses in actual. The most prominently noted objectives of running a business are to increase the added value, expand the business, achieve survival and position in the market, make a profit or provide a service to the community. In the following paragraphs, you will read about all these business objectives in detail.
Often when private business individuals are entrepreneurs of the business, they aim for the profit. Obviously, who is going to insert their full efforts to receive no additional amount for their services? However, when the business individuals aim for profit, they turn many risks towards them. For example, I the entrepreneurs target a very huge profit, they may have to raise the prices of the commodities of their business. A raised price may mean that the business might ...
... lose a great deal of potential customers, and those will be attracted towards competitors. In simple words, if a business goes to make very high profits in the very beginning, it might have adverse effects. Firstly, the business might not be able to survive because of the loss of many customers, while on the other hand, it will give chance and space to fuel its’ competitor’s growth. So one might need to be very careful while deciding strategies for this sort of business objective!
Other important business objective is to increase the added value. Added value to products means the extra price on each product, after subtracting the raw material and labor cost. However, this term should not be mistaken with profit. It is something entirely different. Profit is the additional amount on the products themselves. However, value is added to commodities by offering something extra on the product. For example, if a shopkeeper packs the jewelry in a good-looking cover, and the shop is also designed in a beautiful way, this might give the customers a good impression regarding the business. So the goldsmith can increase the price on the sale because the customers would be willing to pay more. This additional amount that the customers readily agree to pay is called value added. Most of the businesses work to increase added value on products.
Some businesses simply want to expand. Although, their aim is profit, they are getting so much money from their existing sales that they do not need more money. Instead, they require more recognition and fame. For this purpose, many of the businesses are working towards growing themselves into different markets and diversifying them in to the production of different products. Survival and providing a service aims are far too clear to be explained in detail. Thereby you see it is not only the profit for which people run businesses. There are other objectives too.
