There is no better remedy for strained eyes than looking at the lush of green in your garden or yard. To achieve such lushness it is vital that you water them at least twice a day. Of course that is if you have time. If you are a career person and does not have the time to attend to such arduous task then a lawn irrigation DIY is just perfect for you. It will relieve you from such a stressful task at the same time giving your lawn the care it needs.

Now in choosing the exact sprinkler you need, there are factors to be considered. It is a must that you know the major factors involved to make your investment worthy of it all. It will be used for a long period of time so the issue of installation must be well planned. The type of sprinkler you will install depends on the lawn's size and type. Consider the following when you decide to invest in a lawn sprinkler system DIY.

The size of the lawn and the structure
The span of time that you think you want that lawn in its present state
The money you are willing to allocate for lawn maintenance and the installation expenses

When you are done with the ...
... major ones, try to check out the various sprinkler types and the sprinkler heads available. Know the individual characteristics of sprinkler heads so you can best tell what would work best in your lawn. In case you encounter problems with your lawn sprinkler, there is sprinkler system troubleshooting manuals available as well.

The three systems of sprinkler heads are:

1.Spray System

- Disperses about 1.5 to 1.7 inches of water per hour in a short period of time.
- Suitable for small size lawns and highly absorbent soils which need constant watering.
- Inappropriate for clay soil because it does not absorb fast and there is a high tendency of creating puddles of water within or at the ends of the lawn areas.
- Not good for lawns that are uneven or sloping due to its tendency to just run off at the end of your lawn which defeats the purpose.

2.Rotor System

- The water dispersal is just about 0.6 to .08 inches per hour which is comparatively slower than the spray sprinkler system DIY.
- Appropriate for large lawns because it waters the whole lawn area equally.
- This is ideal for clay soiled lawns because of its relatively slower pace of water dispersal.

3.Dip System

- The dispersal rate of water is highly changeable which is about 0.05 - 24 gallons per hour.
- This is not ideal for lawns because of its design which is to water specific pots and garden sections.
