An efficiency apartment is really popular with college students or military personnel who know they won’t be here more than a few months. This is usually quite affordable, and you may rent or own – depending on availability. An efficiency is usually only 2 rooms – a bathroom and a large room. The large room will have your kitchen and living/sleeping area. It usually is a little larger than a dorm room, but with the benefit of a kitchen. In these cases, you may want a futon or sleeper sofa so that you can fold the bed up when it’s not in use.

HOUSE
A house, of course, is a separate building on its own lot. It can be any size, on any lot. It should have separate rooms for the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and living room – otherwise, it’s basically an efficiency apartment.
