Massage or reflexology is similar to acupuncture but instead of needles, the patient's body receives pressure from the therapist's hands. The amount of pressure can vary and like acupuncture, there are various pressure points on the body that will trigger a physical and/or emotional response. Meditation encourages the individual to connect their bodies with their mind and relax both at the same time. We know that in order to keep the weight off, to keep the blood pumping and to keep our bones strong we need to get our bodies moving. Start off with the easy stuff first, like walking. Then begin to add in other exercises such as yoga or low impact aerobics. Don't forget to minimize bone loss you should include "weight bearing" exercises. One last natural treatment to think about and consider are herbal remedies. Every larger city and even many of the smaller communities have a natural food/holistic store in the area. Herbs (even ones used in cooking) can help us feel better about ourselves. Remember, menopausal symptoms are just symptoms of the natural process your body is going through so why take a drug when you can control your symptoms with something that is also natural? There are so many different things one can do and of course since we are all different each method may produce slightly different results.
