What Stroke Of Luck - This Is Bingo

What a stroke of luck! You'll hear a TV announcer commenting of a shot from a basketball player who had one glance at the clock and noticed there was a second left till full time, and all he could really do was to just throw the ball to the other side of the field, hoping for something; anything. To his disbelief (and that of a million spectators worldwide) the ball goes into the net without even touching the hoop. Now the reason the commentator dubs this a ‘stroke of luck' is because here is one of those things in life which man isn't really in control of; and they will probably only ever occur once in our livesif ever
Well in bingo, a lottery game which I think is just a mere excuse the more senior citizens use to get out of the old age home and party it out a little; I have concluded that the term stroke of luck is inapplicable. I base my findings on the fact that 96% of people who have played bingo have actually won something; whether they were playing in a bingo hall, church bingo, or the more modern online bingoheck even people who have played free bingo have won something.
Now ask yourself this one ...
... question; how many people are that lucky in this world; surely Lady Luck doesn't bestow so many of us with this luck of hers. Ok, bingo players wouldn't care to dispute this; they'll take their winnings whether it is Lady Luck or just good karma. But honestly speaking, luck is for the birds as far as non-bingo playing citizens of the world are concerned. I mean look at the state of this world we live in; adversities come from west to middle-east - any direction you can think of! The world as it is has twice as many plagues than the ten the hand of God dished out in Egypt; think Mogadishu, global warming, Robert Mugabe, suicide bombersjust to mention a few. Where is Lady Luckat a bingo hall?
The honest truth is Lady Luck can't be looked at with sorry eyes; she's a free spirit who owes no one anything. Luck, to be honest, is what got us here in the first place. People want it all, and they don't want to do zilch for it. They merely look to the galaxies and hope for something, anything! Bingo players on the other hand, just take what is due to them and come back when they want more. And there is always more.
Greedy people play lotteries with grand prizes of a hundred thousand million. Wish me luck. They say. Well, good luck with trying to be a bogus statistic - there aren't even that many people in the world - you're living in your own world. I reckon I will just play bingo where people don't cross fingersjust numbers; one by one, until the whole world is shouting Bingo!
