There are few communication and or productivity enhancement tools that have has as profound effect on the fabric of life everywhere in the world as have computers, and computer networks in particular. You could compare the dawn of the digital revolution as something akin to the invention of moveable type on the first printing presses produced in Renaissance Europe, or perhaps you might draw parallels to the introduction of computer networks and the first telegraph systems, which linked communication among many far-flung settlements.

Each of these technological advances took civilization yet one more step away from the Dark Ages, and opened many exciting possibilities about what could be developed sometime in the undefined future based on the advancements that were being used to create improved communication and enhanced workflow.
