Photography Courses
I was out for coffee with a friend yesterday who has just celebrated her 50th birthday. She was a very reluctant entrant to her sixtieth decade, even although she had a fabulous party at the local 5star hotel and had treated herself to a complete makeover and spa day in preparation for the big event.
All that was three weeks ago and this was the first time that we had met up since her return from a Caribbean cruise. Needless to say she looked a million dollars. She was telling me about all the gifts she had received from designer jewellery, spa treatments, jokey chocolates and the like. She was really spoiled by friends and family.
I asked her if she had a favourite present and she said that one stood out for her, not the dearest by any manner of means, but for her the most thoughtful. Her son had given her a gift voucher for a photography course. He had remembered her saying on many occasions that her photos were rubbish and she wished she could take better ones.
Well now was her opportunity to learn and bring out her frustrated David Bailey.
We had a look at what was ...
... on offer and were staggered by the choice having imagined that it would be “How to take a good holiday snap" or" "How to take a good portrait". We couldn’t have been more wrong. We were amazed by the variety on offer, spoiled for choice she certainly was.
There was
Creative Photography which sounds intriguing.
One-to-One, a bit too threatening for my friend, but a great way to have your specific needs addressed.
Landscape- which she said she could have done with doing BEFORE the cruise.
Women Only-the one I thought she would choose as it would be less threatening and is a brilliant idea, but apparently the thought of a full day with only women for company did not appeal.
Family and Children’s, Photography -great for when the grandchildren come along or there is a family celebration.
Portrait Photography- sounded interesting.
Photographic Days Out -two for the price of one, instruction and a day’s jolly as well.
There were also others targeted at the corporate and professional market, not really of interest to her.
So what did she go for you may be asking? She chose Families and Children’s Photography tobe able to record the life of her first grandchild which is due in the near future.
All of this got me thinking. Guess what my other half is getting for his big five zero very soon? I also like the sound on the landscape course, so it will go on my wish list.
Photography Made Simple have a range of fantastic photography courses that are friendly and fun.
