Patna, June 8: Over one lakh students in 1000 government schools in Bihar are set to benefit from Vedanta’s e-learning project, according to the MoU that was signed between Vedanta Foundation and Bihar government here today.

Students studying in classes from 6th to 8th will benefit from the Vedanta E-Shiksha@Schools programme that aims to make learning interesting and interactive through the use of computer-aided technology.
Prashant Kr. Sahi, the Minister for Education said, “Bihar has been a seat of learning since ancient times. Vedanta Foundation’s commitment to bring the latest in education tools through its E-Shiksha@Schools Programme is in line with the state government’s vision to provide quality infrastructure to the students of Bihar.”

“Education for all is a cause championed by our Chairman Mr. Anil Agarwal. The programme is designed to provide quality education tools to the underprivileged children of India,” said Mr. Ravi Krishnan, CEO of the Vedanta Foundation.

Apart from providing course curriculum in multimedia format in the local language, Vedanta Foundation will also ...
... fulfil the hardware requirements, including providing for projectors and even battery backup.

Mr. Krishnan informed that the foundation will also undertake training of use of the multimedia content for three teachers per school for a period of up to two years. Training will also be imparted to teachers from the existing 619 Computer Aided Learning Centres.

The MoU was signed between the Education Department of Bihar through the Bihar Education Project Council and Vedanta Foundation and forms an integral part of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (Education for all).

Vedanta’s E-Shiksha@Schools programme currently caters to over five lakh students in 4720 schools across the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Odisha.
