The concave surfaces of the body panel reach the edges of the rear volume, a treatment that helps balancing the volume of the fenders and the boot to naturally become the housing for the LED light clusters. Another relevant stylistic element is the position of the vertically coupled exhaust pipes and the cut of the boot.

The California is the first Ferrari model to adopt a three-part modular chassis, front, central and rear, which is made entirely in aluminum in order to reduce weight and maximize efficiency, with subsequent increase of the torsional rigidity and therefore performance and safety.

The car aerodynamic was developed in close collaboration with the styling department, with the main goal to reduce drag while maintaining down-force. Development was carried out with wind tunnel testing on 1:3 scale models as well as with the latest Computer Fluid Dynamics software with the objective to guide styling solution and optimize wind noise.
The air-intake on the hood is an example of integration between style and functionality: its size and position ensures an effective cooling of the components in the engine compartment.
