After much consultation from seniors and well-wishers, you have come to conclusion of doing an MBA program. This is an important career decision for you. This decision-making was naturally tough for you considering the variety of specialization available. With so many MBA colleges coming up in the country, selecting the right course makes a difference. You have market your decision to best possible way.
A regular MBA program is available in nearly all MBA colleges in the country. A regular MBA program offers good career start, no doubt, but it is not as impressive as specialized MBA. MBA with specialization requires extra study hours and more dedication. If done so, the results are meaningful.

Six important parameters that you should check before seeking admission in a MBA institute in the country:
1. Find the courses available and its content. Check if the course content is relevant in current scenario.
2. Check if the courses are approved by management bodies of country.
3. Compare the courses with other MBA colleges.
4. Check the placements and industry exposure given to students.
5. Compare course fees with other MBA colleges.
6. Find about the campus life and amenities provided to students.

The courses are mostly of two years duration. Some MBA colleges confer degree on completion of courses while mostly business management institutes give a diploma. Companies and organizations equally accept both of them.
When you have finalized the courses, then start preparing for MBA entrance exams. There are national level and state level exams for entry to MBA. Popular exams are CAT (common admission test), MAT (management aptitude test), XAT et al. Admissions to MBA colleges are done after passing in these exams.
There are private and public management studies colleges in the country. Depending upon your choice of specialization, you can select the institute. In a survey, however, the IIMs in India are ranked on top of management colleges. IIMs or Indian Institute of Management located in various cities of India is autonomous bodies providing the best of courses. Entry to IIMs is through CAT.
