An official notary seal, stamp or embosser is required in every notary office in order to make any work look professional and authentic. To establish legitimacy and ensure that the proposed document is genuine, a notary seal or stamp is needed.
In a notary’s office, different requirements like business cards, custom stamps, notary stamps and seals are needed. Besides the above mentioned necessities, notary bonds, special ink pads, ink refill bottles etc. are also required. Among all the above, let us now discuss about notary seal and stamp. These are regarded as one of the important tools of authenticity. In the documents and important papers like birth certificate and identification card, you will find that a notary seal has been embossed. The seal marked in these documents ensures that the notary is authorized by the state and the identification of the person is confirmed. Apart from birth certificate and ID card, important papers like mortgage documents, affidavits and other papers of bankruptcy filing are also notarized at the notary’s office, to prevent any sort of illegal usage.

... seal, notary seal and stamp are always required for verifying any important document. The stamp or the seal ensures that the said document is authentic in the house of law. The notary seal and the notary stamp are invaluable properties of the notary’s office. A Notary seal is generally a kind of rubber stamp, which is used to affix the documents that are being required to be notarized as per law. The use of a notary seal on any paper document acts as an official sign ensuring that the notary officer of the said state is truly authorized to provide the required services. In addition, a notary is that person who has complete authority to issue a certificate of authorization.
If a notary seal or stamp is needed, the concerned state can issue a certificate through the proper channel (i.e. by the Secretary of State) to the notary commission stating the requirement of the notary stamp or seal. An application form should be filled up and the ensuing fee should also be submitted to the Secretary of State. A notary seal usually consists of the full name of the notary public, the concerned state, the commission number and the expiration date.
Quality Notary seal can be made in circular or rectangular shapes as per the requirement of the state. It should also have a serrated or a milled edge border ensuring that the seal provides a clear and good impression every time it is used. During the production process, the manufacturers should also ensure that the circular seal should not go over two inches in length and the rectangular ones should not exceed more than one inch in width and two and one-half inches in length.
The notary seal is a valuable tool for the government and should be kept very carefully. If under any circumstances the notary official seal is lost or is stolen by someone, immediately the concerned officer in charge should write a written application to the Department of State or the Governor for the same. The next process will be checked and inspected by the concerned government department. Apart from this, if any person illegally owns a notary stamp or even gets a signature on any paper, it will be considered as a punishable offense as per the law. As a consequence, legal action would be taken against that person. Under the court of law, he/she will be jailed or will have to pay a penalty for the offense.
