Moving to a new home is undoubtedly a big change not only because it affects our everyday life but also because it has a special meaning related to the reasons of the move. Making your own family, your wedding, a birth, a new job could be some of the reasons that will make you take the decision to change residence.

However, whatever the reason, moving can be a difficult and tiring experience if you don’t know how to get properly organized. Good preparation is the key for a stress less move. ... the day of the move. Furthermore, as for the transfer of the fragile and precious items it made me feel even more stressed.

Having in my possession two huge crystal floor vases given as a gift from my mother I knew that I had to make a good plan of how to deal with such pieces while moving. To my surprise my move turned to be an easy one after I followed my movers’ advice. The following plan will help you make your move easier!

A GOOD PLAN: WHAT TO DO IN ORDER TO MOVE MY CRYSTALS SAFELY

First of all, In order to have everything under control while moving you have to make a list of priorities. You have to decide which day you are planning to move, which items you are taking with you to the new home and which ones you are giving away, how you will organize you packing and how you are going to protect your valuable items or those of great sentimental value.

Start getting prepared a few weeks before the day of the move in order to have enough time to take good care of every little detail. The most tiring and difficult part of the move is the packing. If you want to save unnecessary effort you have to be efficient. Separate the house into sectors and start packing up one room after another. Use a lot of cartons and moving blankets, paying extra care for the fragile objects that need extra packing.

In my case, I had to cope with difficult to move items as I have in my possession two beautiful floor vases that wouldn’t be transferred easily because of their size and fragility. My vases of 1.45 meters high and 75 cm diameter needed extra care so as not to break during the relocation. If you have at your home such items you have to use a lot of tissues, paper and moving tape in order to achieve an appropriate packing. The best possible choice is using moving blankets in order to wrap the crystals of this size with. Make several layers around the crystals and secure with a lot of moving tape. Alternatively you can cover the crystals with a lot of bubble wrap and buy cartons of their dimensions to place them inside. Remember to note on the packing with a pen that you have enclosed fragile items. Move these items slowly and carefully and you will manage to protect them against damages while moving.
