A door with a solid core door may be more robust, and it is also likely to be heavier so that it requires heavy duty hinges to support its weight. As the primary function of a door is to open and close and act as a divider between rooms, it is required to keep its shape to maintain a good fit in the door frame, not only to ensure it closes properly but also to keep out draughts. That’s why door quality is important, as the door you choose must meet your needs, both in terms of how it looks and how it performs in use.
