Jaipur is an amazing holiday destination of India. The city acting as a treasure trove offers to its tourists plenty of things to see and do, thus, ensuring an exciting and enjoyable vacation. The city allows its tourist to have glimpse of the splendour and grandeur of Indian royal lives, learn about the rich heritage and past of the region, enjoy the various puppet and other cultural shows, shop in the colourful markets of the region and finally feast on the highly delectable cuisine of the region. Jaipur fondly referred to as the ‘Pink City’ is the capital of Rajasthan and also its largest city. Jaipur was founded in the year 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and is so named after him. Jaipur was aesthetically designed and was built as India’s first planned city. Even the famous terracotta pink color of the region has an interesting history to it. Back in 1876, the entire city was drenched in this color to resemble the pink sandstone architecture of the Mughal’s as part of the gala preparations being undertaken to welcome the royal guest Prince of Wales.

Tourist attractions are aplenty in Jaipur and are a complete treat to visit. Some of the popular tourist attractions of the region include the Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar. Gaitore, Ram Niwas Gardens, Vidyadhar Garden, Sisodia Rani Palace and Garden, Galtaji, Lakshmi Narayan Temple and much more. The local markets are also a major attraction and worth a visit. They are renowned all over for its colorful turbans, fabrics, bangles, rajais and various other local handicrafts.

Besides the sightseeing and shopping, tourists can also enjoy an evening of various cultural performances from the puppet shows to folk songs and dances organised regularly by hotels and resorts of the region. Apart from that tourists can also enjoy an elephant or camel ride and feast on the local delights like the dal batti churma, laal maans, safed maans and others.

There are also plenty of hotels and resorts present across all budget ranges from the heritage and luxury hotels to the budget and economy hotels thus, catering to varied tastes and preferences of the myriad of travellers visiting the region.
