Wedding Food Of India
Weddings in India are all about lavish decorations and celebrations for a number of days. In India, marriages are event of a lifetime and everyone makes sure to have a grand wedding. Depending on the budget, wedding celebrations are planned. But whatever is the budget, low or high, one thing is common in all weddings events in India – delicious food.
Every community of India boasts of its distinctive cuisine. And you will get a taste of the specialties in their wedding parties. Whether it is a Punjabi matrimonial or a Bengali matrimony function, food takes centre stage.
The Wedding menu in India remains grand in serving whether it is arranged marriage or a love marriage. Marriages in India are fixed with consent of parents. Matrimonial sites India are another way of finding life partner and fixing marriages.

Modern Indian cities are now taking the services of caterers when it comes to wedding food. Busiy schedules and changes in eating pattern is changing the wedding food menu. More and more urban population prefers catering services for wedding functions. In these services, menu is decided and money is charge per guest per plate.
The wedding food menu, both vegetarian and non –vegetarian food are served. Some communities in India are completely vegetarians and eat only veggies. Whereas there are some Indian states, where non-vegetarian food is considered auspicious and is therefore a part of menu.
In a typical Wedding Menu, where both the varieties are served to guests, the feast begins with soft drinks and snacks. Vegetarian snacks include paneer pakoras, corn crispies etc. while non-veg snacks include chicken pakoras, mutton kebabs among so many. Modern fusion snacks are also introduced in the wedding food menu. At some wedding functions, there are stalls of street food of India and people are seen happily digging the food. There are also many fruits and sweets counter.
Main Course of Indian wedding food is again differs for different communities. Vegetables cooked in thick gravy and aromatic spices are part of the vegetarian wedding menu. For the non-vegetarians, chicken, mutton and fish recipes in rich gravy are part of the menu. There are also many types of side dishes that goes with the main courses. Condiments like chutneys, papads etc are also served to the guests.
Some India Wedding functions like in Punjabi Matrimonial, guests are served liquor and cocktails. There are some regions in Punjab where weddings are incomplete without family members sharing a drink or two.
And No Indian Wedding is complete without desserts and sweets. From rich creamy kheer to rassogullas and hot gulab jamuns, a variety of sweets are part of the menu.
