A teen getting their license can be a very exciting time as it usually means less running around for the parents and more independence for the teen. Usually these young motorists just want to grab the keys, jump in the car and go, the last thing on their minds is auto insurance. However, the increased cost of auto insurance is most likely on the minds of the parents who, in many cases, are footing the bill.

Statistically drivers between the ages of 16 and 19 have a much higher chance of being involved in traffic accidents than any other age group. In addition, automobile accidents are the number one cause of death for this age group. That is a scary thought and also the reason the cost of insurance for a teen can be quite expensive.
