Computer has become one of the best investments for your home. Computer has many advantages and the main plus is that it simplifies any job for you making easier for you to finish the task. There are a lot memorable moments when you do something for the first time… first day at high schools, first day in a job, prom dress, first date with a boy friend, etc. and I still remember the first time I got a laptop for myself. It was not a firsthand laptop; it was a second hand that I had bought from one of my friends. He used to be a technology geek and keeps fiddling with different programs. He enjoys buying the latest model and selling his “outdated” model (which happens twice every year) and I hit the jackpot when he wanted to buy an “upgraded” model. His computers are usually in good conditions (he treats them like his babies). So when he decided to sell it, I finally made up my mind to buy a laptop for my personal use.

... with my hard earned money! And naturally I wanted to give my laptop a name, instead of going for some fancy name; I decided to just call her “lappy”. I still remember the first time I booted my laptop after buying it from my friend! Now, I have a tablet and laptop, but lappy would always be close to my heart!
Initially when is bought the laptop, I used to spend hours on it, doing documents and presentations. I used work for part time in a company and during my period there I used bring home a lot of work. I started using the laptop for my office work too. As days passed by, my computer started slowing up and when I opened a document, there used to be a “twin” document that used to appear. I asked my friend to help me out with the problem for which I did not know the source. Though I knew how to use a laptop, I did not have much technical knowledge. Then my friend explained that viruses have entered my laptop and the files are not twin files but “ghost” files that appear which is an indication that a virus is there in my laptop. We sort out the problem and I my laptop was functioning normally. My friend then gave me a few simple tips to keep a computer safe while working or doing anything online or plugging in any gadgets.
The first thing to do after getting a computer is to get a good connection for a trusted provider. Then install anti-virus software it can be a spyware or a malware or any other software that you think would suit your needs. Anti spyware in addition to anti-virus would also be a good idea. Don’t try to download unnecessary data or fall for any of the attractive offers that are available online without a proper backup and click any links that seems suspicious. Also conduct a routine check preferably once a week and see if there are any dangerous cookies detected. When there is a problem that you are not sure of, it is always better to get a tech support than trying to solve the issue by yourself.
