Deputy Mayor Praises Ana Coffee Morning

Shoppers in Uxbridge know there’s no shortage of places to sit down to have a coffee and a natter, but now there’s a brand new outlet to rival Costa and Starbucks, with one big difference, the coffee and the advice is free!ANA Nursing believe in being part of the local community and are now hosting regular coffee mornings to encourage local people to gather and discuss any concerns they may have about elderly care, caring for someone with a disability, or even their own issues regarding health and care. The new coffee morning event was launched on 20th March and over 30 people joined Hillingdon's deputy mayor and his wife, who hailed the event as a great idea. An ANA spokesperson said: "We hope these coffee mornings provide an opportunity for local people to come along and meet our staff and carers. It's a chance for them to ask us anything they want about our services and elderly care in general"

The first event was such a success they will now be held regularly on the last Monday of the month, in central Uxbridge. ANA Nursing want as many local people to attend as possible and in addition to great coffee, ...
... they will also be able to interact with other people in a similar situation and get great advice from the ANA professionals.
ANA Nursing is an established care and nursing company with over 16 years experience but only opened a branch in Uxbridge recently. The ethos of the company is high-quality care at a price people can afford, and so the coffee mornings are a chance to put a human face on the company, and also an opportunity to introduce themselves to local people. The issue of elderly care is one that is gaining momentum and rarely a day goes by without it being featured in some part of the media. There are many scare stories that can often cause anxiety for people. The coffee mornings offer the chance for people to express their concerns, and to hopefully gain some reassurance that help is there if they need it.

Only this week a NHS Confederation report called for more focus on the number of old people suffering from falls, and in particular the care they get once they have had a fall. The report highlights the fact that the current system does not give enough support to prevent people from suffering another fall after their first accident.
It is these kinds of issues that concern local people and quite often they have no one else to discuss it with. It is hoped that by meeting regularly over a coffee with the friendly and highly trained ANA staff on hand, local people can discuss these very real and pressing concerns and get first-class advice all for free - and the coffee's not too bad either! Everyone is invited and they’re being held at Our Lady of Lourdes and St Michael, The Presbytery, Osborn Rd, Uxbridge, UB8 1UE on the last Monday of each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
