One of the most fun things about fancy dress is deciding what to wear. These days, with thanks to the internet, it’s never been easier to find fancy dress ideas and costumes. However, with a little creativity, dressing up is easy – especially when you take your inspiration from times gone by.



The decades of our past define us, to an extent. Who would have thought that the 1980s was over 20 years ago! For some, it’s still fresh in the memory, and a great source of inspiration for fancy dress costumes. Michael Jackson and Madonna were both in their prime in the 80s, and they are the perfect source of fancy dress inspiration.



Not as many people remember the 70s, however 70s costumes are hugely popular, and perfect for a fancy dress party. Everybody has got an inner hippy, so why not choose a hippy fancy dress costume.
