One of the activities that individuals find themselves over the summer is surfing since the water is warm, the sun is up and the tides are high. For novices who wish to go surfing in LA, surfing could be quite an arduous task since balance and patience is needed to get your surfing boards ride with the tides. But don't fret there are many surfing lessons out there like Surf Lessons with Katie and surf lessons in Los Angeles. Here are some tips in surf lessons in Los Angeles.

The first thing that you should bear in mind in regards to surfing is that surfboards are made to float. If it is possible to lie on a surfboard you will just lie there without any problem since it has its own center of gravity. Standing over the surfboard poses a challenge for novices since they've to find the center of gravity and balance their weight on top of the surfboard. It is quite easy to find the center of gravity since you can find it on the mark right next to your chin. This causes the typical pose of a surfer that you see everyday.

Paddling your surf board is easy and the common mistake for novices is paddling the arms simultaneously ...
... since this will cause the board to speed up and later on slow down. You will have a hard time maintaining constant hull speed while in the water. Make sure you paddle just like a crawling motion or stroke. Because of this stroke, it is possible to easily reach any wave or tide at a constant speed.

Another thing which are required to master is sitting on your surfboard. It could be wobbly on your first attempt. To avoid the wobble you need to be calm and try to remain still. This is easier to accomplish if you make less movement. This way you can sit on your surfboard without any problem at all.

The last but not the least thing that you need to master is standing on top of your surfboard. This can be done by placing the body in a prone position then push your body up to a standing position. Keep your surfboard steady by keeping your body low at first. Avoid standing erect immediately since this has a tendency that you'll eventually fall easily. The key to success in surfboarding is to be calm and controlled.
