Garage Equipment For Your Home Garage
We just finally bought a house which has a garage. Because I am a man who loves to tinker with cars this was a dream comes true. I have often have wanted to restore an old car and now I had the room to do it. But I was not entirely sure the best Garage equipment that I would need. A friend of mine works on cars for a living and I knew that I could talk to him and see what kind of equipment he keeps in his garage.
Well I definitely went to the right place. He quickly showed me and told me all of the equipment and tools I would need. He of course said you need a decent size tool box filled with all of the basic tools. Screwdrivers in both Flathead and Phillips, wrenches in all sizes and in metric and standard measurements were on the top of his list. He also said I would need a socket wrench with a racket. Adjustable wrenches were also a good thing to have. He added a tape measure, pliers and a hammer need to be in your Car tools box also.
He showed me his vehicle lift. He said that every garage should have one if you are going to do any work on a vehicle at all. He said there were all kinds that I could find one ...
... that would best suit my needs and the size of my garage.
He showed me an air compressor next. He said, again there were many kinds but they were nice to have around to pump air into any tire. Three more things he said I would be smart to have are a Grease pump, fluid evaluator and brake bleeder. He said especially if I was going to be doing a lot of work on cars.
These three pieces of equipment would allow me to change fluids on my own. He said I would also need a set of ramps and a good jack. He said there were so many other pieces I could buy but because some of this stuff ran into some cash that I needed to buy the basic items and slowly build from there.
I went home with my head filled with Garage Equipment. I started looking around to find the best tools at the best price. I looked for a lift and all of the other parts he had talked about. It took me a few months but I eventually had my garage filled with most of the tools I would need and had already found the perfect car to start on.
