Why To Embed Youtube Videos For Better Maryland Web Design

Let’s first cover the most important question: Why should you embed video into your Maryland web design? The simplest answer is “because it looks good.” When potential customers are navigating the web, looking for the right Maryland web design company, they don’t want to see a slapped together, 8-bit web page that looks like any seven year old could have put it together on geocities. They want pizazz. They want something to pop out at them, and grab their attention. Why? That answer is equally as simple: because that’s precisely what they want their own web pages to do. When a potential customer is browsing the web, whether they’re looking for ideas, or even actively shopping for a professional designer, if they see action, bells and whistles on your site, they’re going to stop. That’s exactly what they want to happen when their potential customers come across their own site, and once you’ve gotten their attention in such a way, you’ve already got your foot in the door with them.
So what’s the next step? How do you go about connecting videos to your site? Well, there are ...
... a couple different ways. First, you have to figure out whether you want to host your own videos on your servers, or upload them to YouTube and link them externally. While hosting your video on your own individual servers does give you more control over who can see them, unless those videos are offered as part of a subscription service, it isn’t the best decision. Uploading your video to YouTube means you’re putting all the information out there on the second most popular search engine in the world next to Google. In addition, since YouTube is owned by Google, guess where else your video will pop up when people search the right terms? That’s right, Google! As if this weren’t enough of a reason, YouTube also has privatization features, which means if you are offering videos as part of a subscription service (I.E. digital downloads for how-to videos), you can set it up in such a way that only people who have an individualized link can access those videos. Put succinctly, there’s no reason to occupy space and bandwidth on your own servers for video; YouTube does it for you.
There are two main ways to do this: The first, and most common is to actually embed the video into your web page. Maryland web design companies have been doing this for a while now, and it’s become second nature. It’s just a matter of taking the HTML code that YouTube provides when the video is hosted and integrating it into the HTML code of your page. Another way to do link videos with your site is to simply provide links to the video on YouTube. This gives customers access, but they don’t see the frame of a video right away, and it may negate the point of attracting attention quickly with a video.
