Google Panda is a change to the Google’s search results ranking algorithm that was first released in February 2011. The change aimed to lower the rank of low-quality sites, and return higher-quality sites near the top of the search results. It’s an improvement to Google’s search algorithm which helps Google to fight content robbers and spammers.
Aim of Panda:
The aim of Google Panda is noble. To remove poor quality sites from the top of Google’s results pages.
This Google Panda update is designed to reduce rankings for low quality sites—sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful. At the same time, it will provide better rankings for high quality sites—sites with original content and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on.
The Panda process:
Google’s new Panda machine-learning algorithm, was made possible by an engineer Navneet Panda, was then used to look for similarities between websites people found to be high quality and low quality.
Human quality testers rated thousands ...
... of websites based on
*Measures of quality,
*Design,
*Trustworthiness,
*Speed, &
*Whether or not they would return to the website.
But Google Panda was built through an algorithm update that used artificial intelligence in a more sophisticated and scalable way than previously possible. This was really a huge step & became a successful step too…
Steps to Handle Google Panda without Struggle:
1. Make sure you have a plan on content marketing. Don’t only opt for keywords articles. There are a lot of great content opportunities try to utilize that out. Produce a great content on a regular basis.
2. At times, you could have experienced that the most unexpected articles get the most shares and re-tweets, so try out different approach with every article to find the right spot.
3. Share great stuff on a regular basis, don’t to it only from your websites, but from other great sources in the niche. This will help with SEO too and also will give you ideas about new content. Improve your social metrics and especially Google Plus and Twitter. Be active and get connected with your industry leaders.
4. Try to markup all content properly. If you do so, you may get rich snippets which will increase your click-through rate. If applicable, go with the authorship markup.
5. Finally improve your bounce rate and make sure visitors won’t leave your website within few seconds after being there. Make them read what you have to say. You can do that by making your articles easy to scan before reading. Use a lot of H tags, bullet points and great images. Save your visitors’ time by structuring your information better.
Factors that make a site Vulnerable to Panda:
Conduct qualitative research, to find out which of the sample sites are considered to be low quality and why. Use the results to define low quality sites with the factors that Google can measure. This gives Google a mathematical definition of low quality.
Factors that Google might be able to measure to define low quality, including:
*A high percentage of duplicate content. If it’s a site measure then that might contribute to each page’s evaluation.
*A high amount of inappropriate i.e. doesn’t match the search queries for adverts, especially high on the page.
*Page content & page title tag not matching the search queries a page does well for.
*Unnatural language on a page including heavy-handed on-page SEO. For e.g.: unnatural overuse of a word on a page.
* High bounce rate on page or site.
*Less visiting times on page or site.
*Low percentage of users returning to a site.
*Low click through percentage from Google’s result pages.
*Low or no quality inbound links to a page or site.
*Less or no mentions or links to a page or site in social media and from other sites.
Multiple factors will likely be required to get Panda points. Panda points will be added up, cross a threshold (the Panda Line) and all the pages on your site seem to be affected. This includes quality original pages being ranked well below useless scraper sites that have stolen your content. These are few factors, which could help you to make your site a vulnerable site.
