Smartphone Shipments Failed To Stop Global Handset Market Falling

According to the recent survey, the rising and falling of the smart phones shipments has failed to prevent the Global market falling. In the first quarter of 2012 the universal smart phones sales was 419.1 million and marks a 2% year on year decline. The slump arises due to a very less demand from Asia.

The strongest parts of the year when the sales are good are the first quarter but it is hampered due to the reason of lesser launch by the manufacturers and moreover many users have not upgrade their handset as they are waiting for the arrival of the super gadgets of the year 2012. The analyst has downgraded its forecast for the year 2012 shipments that is 20 million handsets to 1.9 billion units.

The report also exposed that during the quarter about 144.4 million handsets were transferred and up 44.7% from 2011. But Samsung has really enjoyed the first quarter as the company has shifted 38 million smart gadgets. The calculation of the Android smart phone sales is more than the 40% of the total sales of the Korean Manufacturers. Moreover no other leading brand has achieved more than 10% share of the market. ... to IDC report Samsung has overtaken the Nokia handsets as is considered to be the world’s topmost vendor of the mobile handsets. The survey also revealed that during this period Samsung has supplied about 86.6 million of smart phones and is 25.9% up on last year.

In the list of good sales apple is also there as Apple is up 96.2% on 2011 to 33.1 million. This entire credit goes to the iphone 4S which has gained ever increasing popularity in the Asian Market. But Nokia and RIM both are facing and experiencing challenges in the market. The handset sales of the Finnish Manufacturers fall down 22.7% on 2011 to 83.2 million. Anshul Gupta the analyst said that the sales of the smart phones are becoming an important at a world wide scale. The market share of Rim has fell by a fifth with 9.9 million of handset shipped and 2.4% global market share. RIM has to work very hard for regaining its lost position and its new launching of BB10.
