Some Of The Important Places To Visit In Ipoh And Luala Lumpur

Ipoh is one of Malaysia's important cities and is located nearly 200 km north of Kuala Lumpur. While it may not be top-most in your Malaysian travel itinerary, it is still worth a visit for the historical buildings art, limestone cave temples and particularly the food. All said and done, there are still plenty of places to visit in ipoh.
Ipoh is almost completely engulfed by dramatic limestone hills which give a breath-taking backdrop for cave temples such as Perak Tong Temple. There are several other places to visit in ipoh, but let's talk about the cave temples first.
Perak Tong: This is a cave temple located at Gunung Tasek and there are over 40 Buddha statues present here along with many murals. A steep staircase at the interior of the cave rises up to the top of the hill, where you would be greeted with a panoramic view of Ipoh and its ...
... surroundings. This cave temple was built in 1926 by a Chinese Buddhist priest and houses one of the largest statues of Buddha in Malaysia.
Sam Poh Tong: This cave temple is located at Gunung Rapat near the Simpang Pulai Toll exit and is probably one of the most unique places to visit in Malaysia. One of its most popular attractions is a tortoise pond which houses several tortoises and terrapins of different shapes and sizes. The peacefulness and serene atmosphere in this place is indeed enthralling.
Kek Lok Tong: This is another cave temple that is of tourist interest. The temple lies on the other side of the same limestone hill as Sam Poh Tong and can be accessed only through the Gunung Rapat housing area. What will capture your fancy at this place is the clean, quiet and cool environment and the superb view from the cave.
Besides the cave temples, there are various other attractions within Ipoh. Some of the notable attractions are the Ipoh Railway Station, Ipoh Town Hall (with its interesting gothic architecture), Muzium Darul Ridzuan (an interesting historical museum of Perak), Mariamman Kovil (an old Tamil temple) and the Lagoon Theme Park.
The Lagoon Theme Park is the first water theme park in Ipoh and is loosely based on the KL Sunway Lagoon theme park, which is itself one of the most interesting places to visit in kuala lumpur. One of the differences that you might notice between the two is the fact that while the Sunway lagoon theme park in KL is located between concrete buildings, the Lagoon Theme Park in Ipoh is encircled with the lush greenery of Tambun, and is surrounded by limestone cliffs creating an interesting milieu of action and adventure in a pristine jungle.
Talking of jungles, in Kuala Lumpur you would encounter a jungle of a different kind- concrete jungle. These concrete jungles house various shopping malls, restaurants and places of leisure activities. Kuala Lumpur is famous all over the world for its sprawling malls and scintillating nightlife. KL is truly an international city being a fascinating confluence of modernism with the country's culture and history. You may like to stay in the Golden Triangle area of Kuala Lumpur, which houses many hotels easily providing access to the various shopping and nightlife hotspots of the city. Some of the places that you may like to visit in Kuala Lumpur are the Petronas Twin Towers, Central Market, Aquaria KLCC, KL Bird Park, Petronas Art Gallery, Thean Hou Temple, Little India, China Town and KL Tower.
