Contrary to the popular notion that a holiday is mention worthy only if one goes out of the country, it is really not so. Just look around your own city for a short get away and the discoveries would be innumerable! You would be surprised to hear about tiny secrets that would lie just a few hours from where you live! One such place is Johor Bahru in Malaysia. Lying just across the causeway from Singapore, it is a bustling city of Malaysia which the casual tourist tends to overlook! One of the prime reasons is the nagging question - Is it safe to stay in cheap hotels in Johor? Isn’t it more of an industrial city than a tourist friendly city?

To answer the question - it is as safe to stay in cheap hotels in Johor as it is to stay elsewhere in Malaysia. This is because this city is fast growing to become a tourist attraction along with its hub of industrial ...
... activity! The Danga Bay Integrated Waterfront City is set to be the premier waterfront development and is accessible through roadway, by air and by sea. The Danga Bay recreational park, the Danga Bay river cruise, the Danga Bay Dining cruise at night, the fun park are all packed with fun elements for kids and adults alike.

Due to its strategic location, many tourists look for competitively priced hotels in Johor, which can give them the additional benefit of driving across the causeway and visit the nearby Singapore. In fact, a good budget hotel should be able to offer shuttle facilities to and from Singapore. In addition to this, do look for a good bed and bath along with neat, hygienic surroundings. After all the main purpose of a hotel is to give the traveller a good night’s rest! A good, cheap hotel can be located at a reasonable distance from the airport, have good security and cleanliness. You could look for deals where you can pay for items as you use them but not compromise on the quality of bed or the bath which are basic necessities.

Based on this concept there are many cheap hotels in Malaysia that make travelling more possible. These hotels can offer facilities that are comparable to five star hotels and still charge a one star hotel rate! A low priced hotel need not be a ‘cheap hotel’! It simply means that you might not get the frills and thrills of an expensive hotel which probably makes you pay for things that you would never use!

So, the next time you try to locate cheap hotels in Malaysia, you need not compromise on location or facilities. It just means that the rate should include the basics with a possibility of ‘add on’ based on individual needs. As any travel guide would tell you, while these hotels always offer competitive rates, an off season or week day stay makes the rates irresistible.

If Johor Bahru is at one end of Malaysia and across the causeway from Singapore, Kelantan is the state situated to the northeast of Malaysia. In fact, the city of Kota Bharu is close to Thailand and incorporates a strong mix of Thai and Malay cultures and cuisine. As with other regions of Malaysia you can get excellent value for money in the so called cheap hotels in Kelantan.

Look for location of hotels along with pricing and comfort. In smaller cities sometimes hotels can be located within walking distance from shopping complexes or handicraft centres. Even if you are looking for cheap hotels in Kelantan, you could still look for these features that are available in hotels in bigger cities. If you are driving in, then a covered car park is essential. Even though these hotels are located in smaller towns, they sometimes do provide you with surprising facilities such as wheel chair friendly rooms, baths, WiFi and so on.

The so called cheap hotels in tourism industry have redefined the concept of travelling. If airlines have made travelling affordable, budget accommodations have made lodging in a city a reality. More people in the ‘middle strata’ of the economy are taking advantage of these deals and exploring popular and exotic locales. So, the next time you wish to travel don’t let the budget be a constraint. A number of package deals for travel and stay are available. Simply keep some priorities in mind when you look for a cheaper hotel stay.
