Having your vacation in Malaysia is relatively cheap. However, if you do not plan your vacation well you may end up spending more than necessary in order to enjoy your time in the country. There are many places to visit in Perak and also in Borneo. Many of these places are affordable and some does not even cost a cent. The beauty of this country is that you don’t have to fork out a lot of money to pamper yourself and get the level of comfort that you are used to. This is because there is an abundance of budget accommodations that can help you save money.

Some of the places to visit in Perak are not exactly hot tourist spots but they are still unique in the sense that they hold a special place in the hearts of the locals. So when you are in Ipoh, the state capital, it is advisable that you check into an inexpensive traveller’s accommodation instead of ...
... a high end hotel. This is because you will have more money to really explore the beauty of natural cave temples like the Sam Poh Tong and the historical Kellie’s Castle. The entrance fees into such tourist attractions are not expensive either. So you will definitely have money to spare for souvenirs to bring back home to your loved ones. Staying at an affordable tourist lodging does not mean you will be roughing it. Many of these places offer various services at a fraction of the price of expensive hotels.

Malaysia is a culturally diverse nation so visiting one state alone is probably not going to be satisfying enough. A lot of places to visit in Malaysia are scattered all over the country like the Portuguese settlement in Melaka, the southernmost tip of Asia in Johor where all the fireflies are and also the legendary Langkawi Island in Kedah. Each place is different in terms of the local culture, local food and also experience. Each is unique in its own way. However, what you can definitely count on is that you will not have to look far for a comfortable yet affordable place to stay in these areas. Some are even strategically located near modes of transportation for your own convenience.

The Borneo Island also has plenty to offer. There are many places to visit in Bintulu that are sure to amaze and surprise you. The state of Sarawak is famous for her untouched natural beauty. So if you wish to see hornbills in their natural habitat and big caves that are old as time, this is the place for you to go. You won’t have to worry about spending more than a few nights here because there are many inexpensive tourist accommodations available right in the city centre. As many of Bintulu’s favourite tourist spots such as the Similajau National Park and Taman Tumbina are quite remote due to their preserved nature, you may have to catch a ride on the various mode of transportation available.

These different places all over the country have different things to offer to different groups of tourists. Basically it all depends on the preference of the visitor. There is something for everyone here in Malaysia. There are beaches for surfers, shopping havens for avid shoppers and many historical buildings for history buffs. The important thing to keep in mind here is that visiting these places does not hurt your pocketbook as there are many budget hotel options for you to stay during your short or long vacation.
