Playing The Bean Bag Game
Do you remember if you've played the bean bag game? You probably have, and you just don't remember. You probably played it in your physical education class in elementary school. If you did and you've forgotten it's time you remembered how much fun it was. If you haven't played it, you should take the time to learn just how enjoyable it really is. You can play it on your own, but it's usually more fun with friends and family members. If you're trying to get good before you play against others, though, you might want to practice by yourself for a while. Whichever way you choose to handle it, playing the bean bag game which some people also call the Cornhole game can be a really enjoyable and rewarding experience. You'll need to learn how to play, but it's really simple. Basically you throw lightweight cloth bags at a hole in a board. They score points if they go through the hole. There is, of course, more to the game than that, or it wouldnt stay very interesting for very long.
While wooden boards are more traditional and more common, the board for the bean bag game can be constructed of wood or ...
... plastic. Plastic ones have been constructed recently because some people think that they hold up to the weather better. Some people don't agree with that because they think that wooden boards hold up better to sunlight than plastic ones do. Whatever your preference, you can learn to play the game on either kind of board, according to what you like. If you like to work with your hands and if you like woodworking, you can build your own bags and board to make your own set. Bags can be hand-sewn, so there's no sewing machine required. You can play the game just as soon as you have the bags and the board that you need. There is a specific distance that you need to stand from the board, and you'll toss the bags which used to be filled with dried corn or dried beans but are today usually filled with plastic pellets toward the hole. They'll earn you points if they go in the hole. If they stay on the board but don't fall in they're also worth points, but just not as many.
You have to get twenty-one points to win the game, and if the bags hit the board and fall off or if they don't hit the board at all, they aren't worth any points. You can play on your own, against another person, or in teams, making the game very versatile and fun for all ages. The game is a really good choice for gatherings of family and friends because they have a lot of different age groups. It's not difficult, confusing, or physically strenuous, and everyone can play the game and enjoy it. Young people and older ones have so few games today that they can play and enjoy together. With that being the case, the bean bag game should have a place at family get-togethers for a long time to come.
