Wayanad, a district in Kerala, is located in the lush green valleys of the Western Ghats. Wayanad is one of the later formed districts of Kerala, formed by carving out areas from Kozhikode and Kannur districts.

Wayanad is a tourist hot spot and one of the most visited districts in Kerala. With its forest covered mountains and valleys, extensive jungle cover, flora and fauna, pristine waterfalls, crystal clear lakes and historic monuments, Wayanad’s strategic location has also been a boon for the tourism development.

Some of the tourist spots are Chembra Peak, Edakkal Caves, Kuruva Islands, Pakshipathalam, Pazhassi Raja Tomb, Pookot Lake, Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, Kanthanpara Waterfalls, Soochippara Waterfalls and the Banasura Sagar Dam. Another popular Wayanad Hotels are the tree houses and eco-lodges in Vythiri. One has to reach the tree house using an ingenious self-propelling elevator made out of cane and counter balanced by the weight of water.

Some of the five star luxurious Wayanad Hotels are Rain Country Resorts, Meenmutty Heights, Vythiri Resort, Harithagiri Ayurvedic Village and Resort, Edakkal Hermitage, Banasura Hill Resort and several others. These resorts are set in the most picturesque of places and the view from these resorts is also breathtaking. Most of these star hotels include facilities like 24 hour restaurant, coffee parlour, cycling, jacuzzi tub, badminton, bonfire, jungle trekking, airport pick/drop, railway station transfer, jogging track, travel desk service.
