Agra Hotels – Accommodation In The Land Of The Taj

Agra, popular around the world due the presence of the Taj Mahal, lies in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Situated close to the national capital of Delhi, Agra is a premier destination of the world that prominently figures in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Agra is an ancient city which finds mentions in ancient texts like the Mahabharata. Though it was Sikandar Lodi of the Lodi dynasty who had first made Agra his capital, it was under the Mughal rule that the city flourished.
Though Agra is famous for Taj Mahal, which is said to be a mausoleum constructed by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, it is also known for other historic sites like Agra fort and Fatehpur Sikri.
