B2B marketing consists of selling of products and services by one company to other company. It does not involve direct selling to the end customer. Most of the companies who buy these products and services use them either to reselling purposes or to create a final product which will be sold to public.

The main purpose of B2B campaigns is to generate more business for the company. An email marketing campaign is an important tool in this regard. By focusing on the merits that your product has and how can it benefit the client’s business; you can generate good sales leads that you can benefit from. It would be of no use if your email is ignored by your client even if you are offering a great deal to them. Hence, it is necessary that you write an email which instantly catches the attention of the customer. Taking some important steps can prove to be of great help in this regard:

• Target wisely: You must gather proper information abut the company that you intend to target. A good way for that can be to pay a visit to their website. By getting a clear idea about ...

• Relevant content: The content of the email must be clear and concise. The offer that you intend to make should be mentioned clearly. Try to keep the email short and professional and explain to the client how dealing with you can benefit them

• Targeted level: Send your email to the person who has decision making authority. Sending it to a junior employee may be a waste of effort. The email from your end should also be sent by a senior functionary.

• Know what the client wants: It would be of great help if you manage to know what the client wants. Discount offers and promotional schemes may work in B2C campaigns but are of no use in B2B campaigns. Hence, provide them with something which is also beneficial to them.

• Follow-up campaign: Do a follow-up campaign only with those who seem to be interested in doing business with you. Don’t target those which are uninterested as it may kill any future prospect of doing business with them.
