New Way To Watch Movies While Traveling

Cheap airplane tickets, discount hotel rooms, and cheap vacation packages are definitely the way to go. However, sometimes passengers end up waiting hours at airports because they are making connections or their flights have been delayed. Enjoying time while in the air on long flights can be similarly challenging.
A pleasant way to endure such waits is by watching a movie. Some travelers like watching movies from a company called Redbox. This service allows users to rent DVDs from a kiosk and pay by the day. It is popular in part because of its rent and return anywhere policy.
Fliers can rent a DVD from one location, watch the movie at the airport or on the plane and return it to any kiosk after landing with no additional fee. The problem comes in when users are unable to find Redbox kiosks at their destinations or simply forget that the DVD is sitting in the bottom of their carry-on bags.
A new company, called “Digiboo” started doing business in March renting movies that do not come on DVDs. Instead users download a film file onto a USB flash drive at airport kiosks and then put it direct on ...
... a laptop’s hard drive.
Today Digiboo touchscreen kiosks can be found in three domestic airports (Minneapolis-St. Paul, Portland, and Seattle-Tacoma) with plans to expand. Digiboo offers 700 tittles, which can be rented for $3.99 for 48 hours. Afterwards the file no long works, or it can be purchased for $14.99.
The download speed typically runs about 30 seconds for newer flash drives and as much as five minutes on older ones.
At present the downloads are not compatible with Apple products and videos are not HD. USB devices must be pre-registered on Digiboo’s website before they can be used to download a movie.
