Remodel Your Home With Floform Counter Tops
Whether you are remodeling your old home or designing a new one, one of the most important aspects that you will need to consider is the counter tops in your kitchen. Floform has been serving your area for many years and understands the importance of your choice. Your counter tops are the most visible area in your kitchen, as well as the most utilized. Your choosing of materials plays an important role in not only the appearance of but also the ease of cleaning. Some of the most popular styles of materials available include ceramic, steel, stone, and stone composite.
Ceramic is a beautiful addition to any kitchen décor. The type you choose is only limited by the imagination, and of course your budget. If your budget is large enough, you can even have your tiles hand designed. This is a great way to have just the ambiance you are seeking in your newly remodeled kitchen. The only drawback is the effort that is required in order to keep the surface of your new tile counter top sanitary for cooking purposes. Sealant should be applied around the grout areas and extra care paid to keeping those areas clean so that bacteria ...
... does not grow.
Stainless steel is a great choice, as well. This has a very modern appeal and is very easy to keep clean. It suits just about any interior design ideas. Best of all, this material can take the abuse that a well-used kitchen can dish out. It will resist scratches and denting and it will not chip. If you are trying to achieve a sleek and modern look, stainless steel is definitely the way to go.
Copper is another great metal that people do not often consider when remodeling. This is a softer metal than stainless steel, but in its purest form is very much hygienic. Studies have shown that copper actually kills certain types of bacteria that are known to grow in kitchen environments. The nice brown finish of copper over time gives a mellowed appearance for any style décor. This material will scratch more easily than other materials; however, due to the type of finish that copper has, any scratches can easily be buffed out.
Stone, as mentioned, can be a great alternative to ceramic and metal counter tops. There are many different types of stone that are used in counters in kitchens across the world, such as marble, granite, and slate. These are known to come in a variety of different colors and varieties for your decorating pleasure. Marble is quite smooth and is available in many different shades and hues; however, its porous nature requires that a sealant be applied to resist staining. Granite also requires sealing for the same reason. Slate, on the other hand, is very scratch resistant and very stain resistant, as well. It makes for very easy cleaning. Slate is highly sought as a material for creating laboratory counters.
Whatever you choose, your kitchen will be better once you have the desired effect you are looking for.
