Many seniors require some assistance with daily routines of living. Many simply need the assurance that someone will be checking on them regularly. Seniors whose minds are sound but whose bodies are declining often only need a helping hand, rather than a move to an assisted living facility. Others may have temporary health issues that lead to assistance with nonmedical needs. For these individuals, a regular visitor trained in dealing with increasing frailty can be a godsend.

Some seniors find themselves in assisted living facilities merely because they cannot get the at home the assistance they need. Tasks that younger, able-bodied people see as light housekeeping can be daunting for those with mobility or stamina issues. A lady with advanced arthritis may fondly remember a freshly made bed at least once a week, but can now no longer manage to get fitted sheet corners over the mattress. She has no demanding health issues and can provide all of her own personal care, but simple housekeeping tasks are no longer simple at all for her. Regular visits by a caring individual who has come to take care of ...
... those tasks can be greatly encouraging and gratifying.

Home Health Care Services

Home health care services have greatly increased in popularity over the past several years. Individuals who need temporary ongoing care for health issues but do not need hospitalization formerly had to go to nursing homes until fully healed from heart attacks, falls, and other dramatic health events.

Though home health care services provide invaluable support for elderly loved ones, their focus is not health care. When there is no family immediately available to help, patients still require nonmedical assistance with light housekeeping and meal preparation. Patients also likely need some friendly conversation. Regular visits by a home health care provider are of great value to the patient.
