Reasons For Increase In Clinical Researches
Simply put, clinical research is the bridge between the medical market and the clinical laboratory for new drugs and treatments. With new medical developments in treatments and medicines this market is rapidly increasing. Researches reveal that spending in US for drugs prescription has gone up by 12 percent per year during 1990’s. This trend however continues and increased by 8 percent annually since 2000. Not only in US clinical researches and trials are said to increase globally owing to medical developments as well as requirements.
Reasons for increase in Clinical Research
There are numerous reasons for this increase in clinical research round the globe. First and foremost, the prevalence and incidence of numerous chronic conditions for instance diabetes, asthma, arthritis, cancer, high cholesterol, and other ailments has increased over the past few years. This reason being the majority of the population is aging and also has unhealthy health habits. There are effective drugs that treat these conditions and must be consumed by patients ...
... regularly for several months or years. In some cases they need to be continued for life and hence research needs to be done on the drug consumption level.
The second reason is that doctors are treating and diagnosing these chronic illnesses at a higher rate than they did in the past. To do so they are using new age drugs. Hence, there must be constant medical experiment and research done on how to better these drugs with time.
The third reason is that newly sanctioned medicines are being heavily marketed to consumers and doctors alike. And finally, many drug companies today with eminent brand names have been expanding the franchisee of their branded drugs by spinning off new versions of them.
