The auto industry from the car makers to the parts makers all began gearing their marketing campaigns towards the promise of better gas mileage and a cleaner environment. This effort was recognized and Americans responded by trading in their large gas guzzling vehicles for the newer more efficient models that were being offered. Auto makers are still researching more ways to offer the most efficiency from their vehicles. Parts suppliers are designing newer, more efficient parts that are to be installed in the vehicles and the main goal is to keep Americans on the road in a vehicle they love to drive and can afford.
