A driving instructor’s life is very interesting and definitely out of the normal humdrum office life that may appear to be boring for some. A driving instructor takes on new learners and sets them through their paces. As the teaching progresses, the student improves upon his driving skills and this is a matter of pride for the instructor especially when the pupil wins his coveted driver’s license. However, if you want to become a driving instructor, you also have to be mentally prepared of the kind of life you will have. You have to be very focused since at least a part of the controls of the car will be in the hands of a learner. In order to qualify for enrolment on a training course for driving instructors, you must be more than 21 years of age and hold a full UK or EU car driving license that you should have held for four of the last 6 years during which you should not have been disqualified.
You can apply for driving instructor jobs after you have applied for registration within 12 months of having passed the ADI examination. Depending on your preference, you can pick these jobs. There are several options that are open to you. You can work for a driving instructor franchise or open your own driving school where you could be one of the employed instructors. While the franchise gives you job security, your own school will free you forever from having to work under a boss all your life.
