Caring For Your Feet Naturally
Feet have it rough. They are constantly being walked on and stuffed into socks that make them sweat and shoes that may not fit properly. Feet need extra amounts of daily tender loving care, which you can do nature’s way. Often, the foot care products you find in the market or pricy department stores contain chemicals and other potential harmful agents. You can also find foot care products made from all natural ingredients, but you always have the option of pampering your feet with things you have at home! Using natural ingredients and common products you’ll find in your very own refrigerator and pantries can save you a lot of money. Your feet will benefit from using safe and natural products.
A common problem for the foot is overly-dry, rough, and calloused skin. Start a simple bedtime routine using the following homemade recipes to keep your feet healthier and looking great. Take two cups of whole milk and add it to seven cups of water. Warm it up to the hottesttemperature you can stand. Pour the mixture into a bucket and soak for ten minutes. Rinse feet off with cool water. Now that your skin is softened, use a ...
... pumice stone or foot file to remove dead skin and rough calluses. Be certain you do not over scrub hard areas. Doing so can cause you pain and bleeding.
If you don’t have a foot file or pumice stone, you can make your own foot scrub by combining two tablespoons of lotion and a ½ cup of white, granulated sugar. Massage the sweet scrub into your feet. The sugar acts as an exfoliant for the skin. After the skin has been scrubbed, rinse off in cool water when finished.
The soles of the foot do not contain any oil producing glands, which leaves the skin of the foot especially susceptible to dryness. It is best to moisturize every day with a heavy duty lotion. For an even deeper conditioning treatment, simply rub olive oil all over feet, especially to the problem areas. Wrap your feet in plastic wrap and put your socks back on for an hour. The plastic will help to generate natural body heat, allowing the oil to penetrate the skin more deeply. At night time, skip the plastic wrap and just wear socks to bed.
For a refreshing foot spray, mix 14 cup of vodka, ¾ cup of baking soda, ¼ teaspoon of tea tree essential oil, and ¼ teaspoon of peppermint essential oil in a spray bottle. Shake well and spray your feet for a cool, relaxing treat.
