Indian Railways’ leading subsidiary IRCTC brings blessing-bonanza for “Shiv” Devotees. It is planning to run a special train from Indore to Nepal to make visit to famous Pashupatinath Temple (one of the most significant Hindu temples of Lord Shiva in the world) easy for the people the state. The special train to Nepal is expected to be given green flag from Indore around Independence Day, says Achyut Singh, Regional Manager of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, to Times of India.

The IRCTC, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation would flag off the special train from Indore (the largest city and commercial center of the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India) to Raxaul (a sub-divisional town in the East Champaran district of the Indian state of Bihar), which is about 100 kms from Kathmandu. There from, the private bus operators would take passengers to Kathmandu.

Shiv devotees come to take blessing of Lord Shiv from all the way here. The temple is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams (Holy Abodes of Shiva on the continent). It is only the temple in the world where Hindus alone are allowed to go into the temple building. Nepal is a secular country where even non-Hindu visitors are allowed to look at the temple from the other bank of Bagmati River.

There are million of tourists in India who visit the Pashupatinath shrine each year. There is a huge interest in the temple among the tourists from India, especially from Madhya Pradesh.

Indian Railways has already started several tour packages which passengers are booking from its official website. These packages include Jyotirlinga Package, Char Dham Yatra, Dakshin Yatra, etc. The railway is considerably working out on the cost of tour well be it may go ahead in May.

The bookings for the travel package are likely to be open within a week of its launch. The month of August is the season when millions of tourists visit Kathmandu during the summer holidays. Then, hotel reservations become hard to come by during the time.

The Special train may be called Nepal Special. The special train would have a carrying capacity of about 1,000 passengers. There would be a pantry car on the train. The train will start from Indore has two halts at Bhopal and Jabalpur and stop at Raxaul in Bihar. From there on, the passengers would be taken by road to Kathmandu by private bus operators.

It would be a seven-day tour package. The train would leave the state and stop directly at Raxaul. There would be three nights in Kathmandu.
