Visor lights can be small, but when it comes to performance, they are as good as it gets, which is why they are preferred for the most dangerous covert operations. The basic classification of these lights is in terms of the number of units that they come with. A visor light might have just one unit with up to 10 LEDs in one single color. It could also have just one unit but with two sets of LEDs in two different colors such as bright red and blue, or bright amber and green. Apart from the split segment lights, you will come across a third variety of lights. These have two different units, each with LEDs in either one or two colors offering individual control of those units for greater flexibility and greater permutations and combinations when it comes to flashing.

Some of the most impressive visor lights include those which are less than 3 inches in width and are as slim as 1 inch making them extremely easy to handle and shift from one vehicle to another. These ultra slim lights can also be easily mounted behind visors making them concealable enough for covert operations. Visor light equipment ...
... can also be mounted in some cases between the vehicle roof and the headliner if you want to take no chances with the visibility of the equipment. The visor mounted equipment in spite of their small size conforms to SAE and California Title XIII specifications which is the mark of reliability.

High performance, visor lights usually come in an easy install, plug in and operate design making it very easy to use them along with bigger circuits if need be. They can easily be plugged into a 12 V DC power supply as well. The Velcro straps often provided with these 12 inch visor light units can be adjusted to secure them firmly in a position that you feel confident with. Most of these units are designed explicitly for internal mounting but their domes and encapsulation ensure that they are moisture resistant and have vibration dampening mechanisms to keep them unaffected on bad terrains. In some cases the lights can be hardwired as well. Some intelligent units even come with a combination of built-in flash patterns and non-volatile memory which lets you retrieve information about last used flash patterns.

In emergencies, the pattern recollection mechanism can be extremely helpful to save time. At the same time, the visor lights also come with passenger side and driver side patterns that can be selected with a push button pattern selection switch. The visor light units which are well secured from reverse polarity as well as voltage spikes usually offer more than a dozen flash patterns in different color combinations with added effectiveness offered by the lenses, reflectors and filters used with them. These units come with covert out of sight mounts which cannot be detected unless checked closely. Some longer units have as many as 100 1 Watt LEDs packed closely for maximum brightness of warning signal.
