Gorgeous, glamorous and superb acting skills - that's how one can aptly describe Karishma kapoor aka Lolo. Karisma has inherited her acting prowess from her grandfather and famous yesteryear actor Raj Kapoor. Coming from a filmy Kapoor khandaan, acting is in her genes.

She made her debut in 1991 with Prem Qaidi. Her career hit a rough patch in her initial stage of her career. Her films - Jigar, Anari, Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Jeet, Judwaa and Hero No. 1 did well at the box office but the heroes walked away with all the accolades. Her role was limited and she had nothing much to do apart from dancing around trees and playing the eye-candy of the heroes.

But the year 1996 changed her fortune. She acted in Dharmesh Darshan's Raja Hindustani opposite Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan. The movie became the highest grossing film of the year, and she won her first Filmfare Best Actress Award. And it seemed the black lady loved to be in her hand! The next year again, she won the Filmfare Award but in the Best Supporting Actress category for Dil To Pagal Hai directed by Yash Chopra. This film also bagged ...

From there on, there was no looking back for Lolo. She went on to do superhit films like Biwi No.1, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Jaanwar. She won her second Filmfare Best Actress Award in Khalid Mohammed's Fiza (2000) for her splendid performance. Zubeidaa (2001) won her Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.

Born 25 June 1974, she belongs to the sun sign Cancer with 7 as her ruling number. Being a Cancer, she is admirably kind, generous, understanding and gracious. She has good intuitive powers and mostly put them to good use in managing her life. She is emotional and expects a lot from her relationships. She has an individualistic streak and distinct style.
