Export Xls/xlsx Files To Any Popular Database Format
As a database admin, I remember wishing for a conversion utility that could save XLS and XLSX to other database formats I could ask it. And not only export but convert accurately and quickly, no matter what the size of that database could be. At that time, I had to manage multiple databases and often needed to save them to other formats. There's something like it these days and it's called Advanced XLS Converter.
Excel converter is a Windows application for exporting Excel databases (XLS/XLSX) to other database formats and it's amazing how accurately and quickly it does its job. Actually I tried out several programs of this kind that do similar things but I really like Advanced XLS Converter best so far. Once you download it from here and install, you're all set and there's nothing you need to have for it to work properly. I mean the program does not require any external drivers such as ODBC or BDE to connect to an Excel database. I especially like how easily you can get started with your first conversion project. You make a few clicks and voila! You have a file in a new format.
Here's ...
... how it works. After you select a source file in XLS format, you choose the output format, the directory for saving the resulting file, and then watch the magic happen. In a few seconds, you'll see the new file in the desired format in the output folder. Conversion works quick on a file of any size. Even of your file is large and has thousands of records, or you convert more than one file in the batch mode, the application converts them quickly, without keeping you waiting for a long time. And it's absolutely amazing how accurate it is. Every time I did the export, the application ported the structure and data to a new file correctly, no complains. Some of my more recent export jobs included conversion of XLS to DBF, Office RTF format and HTML for posting that data to the Web and intranet. Each and every export was accurate and in seconds.
As for the supported output formats, there are 10 of them. You can convert XLS to Dbase III/IV, Visual FoxPro, text files, HTML, Clipper/Foxpro PRG, XML, Excel, CSV, SQL and RTF. This is really cool as you do not have to buy several dedicated database creation packages. As you can guess, it will cost you much.
Excel Converter also lets you preview the original file, sort data by columns, use filters, edit names, size, type of columns, set the app to skip duplicates and convert from the command line. Pretty good.
Advanced XLS Converter is distributed as shareware and you can evaluate its trial for free for a limited time. The program runs under all versions of Windows, such as 95/98/NT/2000/2003/XP/Vista/2008/Windows 7.
Think about it. Now you can save XLSX to almost any popular database format you can think of. It only takes 40 bucks to get this functionally but I should say it is totally worth the price.
