If you have a fire department in town, you need to have fire equipment. This is not only for towns but also for large companies that may even have their own fire department. They may need ARFF trucks and such that they cannot afford to buy new. These can be very costly when purchased new, so many will rather buy them used. But how does a person go about getting used equipment and is it a good idea?

It is a good idea to purchase ARFF trucks and firefighting equipment if you need it. If this is a need in your community, company or whatever, and it is for the greater good of that community, then it is a good thing to have. The way to do that is to think outside the box a bit and think about creative ways that you can get what you need without spending a lot of money. In many cases, a new truck can be out of the question, especially in a small community that does not have much money to spend. But they can still get the help that they need when they purchase used. They can still help those in the community that they serve in the best way possible by using used equipment.

When used for fires, the equipment has to be in good working order. But it can be repaired in many cases, this is especially true of the trucks. They are like cars and it is just cheaper to buy them used than new. People who buy a car need a car to get them to where they need to go. If they cannot afford a new car, they get an old one. The same holds true for fire equipment and trucks. If you cannot afford new, go with used so that you get the same effect for less price.
