An LED lightbar is a highly useful piece of equipment for emergency vehicles that need a reliable source of emergency lighting which can also flash a very powerful warning signal in all possible directions. LED lightbars are manufactured across standard lengths such as 44 inches, 49 inches, 54 inches or even 60 inches. You can find light bars longer than that too, although such models can be mounted only on much bigger emergency vehicles such as tow trucks and equipment carriers. The low amp draw of these light bars combined with low power consumption allows for the power supply to be minimal with a 12 V DC battery proving ideal. The light bars that have an I-beam construction and a modular design have certainly come a long way when it comes to being resilient and simple to repair.

Fresnel inner and outer lenses, both clear polycarbonate ones and colored ones are used in modern LED lightbars to enhance the quality of the lighting. Customization is possible to a reasonable extent when it comes to mixing and matching the colors of different LED modules or units and altering the lengths of the bars significantly. ...
... You can even customize the arrangement of the LED modules and additional light heads to enjoy the benefits of staggered mounting and orientation. A high performance LED lightbar comes with several different mounting options, which also includes bail brackets that let you adjust orientation and height to perfection. Some light bars are versatile and can be mounted in any direction, horizontal, vertical or even upside down.

Apart from the ruggedness of the chassis, you would also be impressed by the ease with which individual components can be accessed, serviced, repaired or replaced in LED lightbars by just removing a few screws. Impressively there are slide bolt brackets available for mounting light bars on flat surfaces while optional flanges, magnets, straps and mounting clips are also provided. There are light bars that are available with two piece design as well which includes passenger side and driver side units along with cable exits. You can also go for an LED lightbar that comes with a split housing model with 4 to 6 individual LED light heads.

Modern LED lightbars come with additional TIR lenses for maximum optimization of the lighting. Apart from the optics, the LED lightbar is also impressive for its easy installation which can be achieved through anchor points. Smaller light bars may not even need holes to be drilled. It is also possible to use lenses, domes and mirrors to customize light dispersion. Maximum penetration is important during emergencies considering that even vehicles far away should be able to spot the flashing warning signal. Designed to meet SAE and California Title XIII specifications, the light bars are vibration, moisture and corrosion resistant. Some units are specifically customized for different vehicles such as the Chevy Suburban or the Tahoe. Some light bars have several 3 or 4 LED units configured together for maximum control and reliability.
