The innocuous piece of cardboard can be boring and plain, but its importance should never be forgotten. Let’s face it. We don’t sit around a campfire and talk about the ubiquitous cardboard box. If you look in every home or apartment the one common item you’ll see is the box. They are good to have around because you can actually use it for a lot of things, not just packing stuff up. When you have meticulously shaped items, it is important to have a meticulously shaped box. In many cases, the cardboard box simply won’t do, but it does serve a purpose in many other things such as packing or having it for storage purposes. The concept of gifting specialty items in specialty boxes dates all the way back to the times of Genghis Khan (and maybe before). Oddly shaped products need something special to hold them, not only for safety of the product, but for presentation purposes, too.

... soccer balls – it just doesn’t matter. A ball looks better if it’s in a carton that is designed specifically for the item. It also keeps it much more secure. Can you imagine if a ball was left to its own devices and rattled around in a box at will? That would be annoying and it might even puncture the box.
• Alcohol – People send alcohol to friends and family or they gift it all the time at office parties and what not. There is a special type of box that is used that not only secures the alcohol in place, but it makes it look highly presentable.
• Posters or Memorabilia – Whether it is used as a promotional item to a client or just sending it to family or friends across the country, posters and memorabilia should have specialty folding cartons at their disposal. A cardboard box won’t do in this case because of the sensitive materials that are inside.

These are just a few of the items out of dozens more that can essentially be shipped in specialty cartons. They can be customized to fit the shape and size of the product, too. Buying them online is perhaps the best place to do the shopping for these items because the chances of finding a suitable and yet warranted box for your product won’t be found in stores.
