However, under certain conditions, qualified students may have the option to pursue an accelerated three-semester track. This option is strictly reserved for individuals who have extensive, relevant professional experience. A three-semester track begins in the fall and allows qualified candidates to complete an intense, challenging program in just 16 months and 168 credit units. Students must pass with a 3.0 GPA. The core curriculum focuses on policy analysis, finance, management, political science, project application, and technology and management.

For those who enter into a traditional two year program, the curriculum will focus on tools – both analytic and quantitative - communication skills, and management skills. Students are required to complete 198 credit units with a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

With a Master’s degree in public affairs, graduates can find jobs at the local, state, and federal level to develop and implement policies. A Master’s degree will qualify graduates for directorial, managerial, and senior level positions, and jobs can be found in both governmental and non-governmental organizations that work to enhance the public good.
